Retro City Rampage è un gioco d'azione e sandbox. Ambientato in un open world in stile GTA e con una grafica stile 8 bit, è un'avvincente parodia degli anni 80.
Super Mario, Ritorno al Futuro, Duck Hunt, sono solo alcuni dei personaggi, giochi, serie TV e film parodiati in Retro City Rampage, un videogioco che riprende la cultura pop di 30 anni fa.
Il gameplay di Retro City Rampage ricorda molto quello del famoso titolo di Rockstar. Con una visuale dall'alto, libertà di movimento, la guida di macchine rubate, gli inseguimenti con gli sbirri e le missioni sparse: se hai giocato almeno una volta a GTA I o II è impossibile perdere il riferimento.
In Retro City Rampage c'è una storia principale che ti vede nel ruolo di rapinatore di banche, a fianco di un pazzo che ricorda 'vagamente' Joker di Batman. Ma ogni volta che lo desideri puoi avventurarti tra i vicoli della città per impegnarti in una delle numerose missioni laterali.
