Bard to the Future è una piattaforma a scorrimento laterale in 2D che segue una battaglia bardo medievale come egli trova una macchina del tempo, riunisci a due LARPers e finisci in una corsa contro il tempo in viaggio pirata cyborg per scoprire un tesoro perduto.
I giocatori dovranno saltare e Powerslide attraverso diversi periodi di tempo per completare il viaggio. Ogni periodo di tempo porta nuovi fattori ambientali, nemici unici e diversi livelli di difficoltà - da motivi scivolose della Ice Age alle mummie risorte dell'Antico Egitto.
