If you love the whole Blade Runneresque / Cyberpunk thing, then this is the game for you. The game is an RPG twin stick shooter at its core and I have played it a lot on Xbox (when it was still on Gamepass & it only recently left GP, so I really wanted to play it again without playing on console). So onto PC we go (I run 5600x w/ 6750XT and 32GB RAM. I can play this smoothly at max settings without any hiccups ) AND I have to say I played this game since it first launched and it was a bit of a struggle on console. Buggy sometimes, quest had some errors where things just didn't work. Now on PC I was forced to start from the beginning and it is a whole different game. The visuals were as always very good and you can really tell that it runs miles better on PC. They have patched a lot of the odd bugs and problems. The game itself is pretty varied for as far as these type of games go. You can select different skills, weapon sets and armour sets to create a build. Some more viable than others. It has handcannons to miniguns and laser/plasma scifi like weapons. Depending on the enemy the effect is different. Sometimes you will fight monsters. sometimes you will fight high tech towering mech type enemies. You can use cover and sometimes have to aim more slowly by raising your weapon to hit different parts on enemies. You can even use cover by crouching. Which weirdly usable in this isometric perspective. The whole aesthetic is pleasing, as is the soundtrack. It just fits with the neon lit megacity cyberpunk Blade Runner vibe. The story is bit generic - evil megacorpo overlords - ring any bells? But that's not really the point of this kind of game. Just point and shoot away and have a blast. Pretty dope game if you ask me.

Good 10 to 20 hours of gameplay. Best served as co-op. Graphics are outstanding and gameplay is smooth af.. but there is few annoying bugs. My co-op partner loses his ui totally every once in a while, but nothing too devastating. Storywise game starts slowly but gets better and better over time. Unfortunately ending is.. well it could be better. Overall enjoyable experience 10/10 would recommend.

I'm playing with my girlfriend and we are loving it so far. It's not common nowadays to find good couch co-op games. The style and the world are very intersting

The Ascent. Because of the name I got noticed and because of the tags RPG and Cyberpunk I took a closer look. In short: buy the game, it bucks a lot. I have been gaming for 7 hours at the moment and my desire for more increases with every login. The story is cool, the music ... ALL THE MUSIC ... is just great. What is also really intense are the scenes. "OMG that looks awesome" "Take a look at this" is what we thought. Loot is fine, upgrade weapons and so on. is well done and I'm curious what else there is. Although I don't celebrate top-down shooters that much, the game was just right for me and my 2 game partners. We were looking for a nice co-op game and came across The Ascent ... so far we have not been disappointed. It's not too difficult, but neither is it too easy. If the mission says level 7 is required, 5 may be enough, but with a lot of effort. Because I didn't notice any really negative things, here's a little something. The only thing that was very annoying is that the Fullchrome opponents did not spawn on a mission. Is a known bug: Just quit the game for a moment and reload it, and the problem is solved. Conclusion: I can only recommend it to anyone looking for a co-op game where you can simply have fun and lose yourself in a new world.
