Requires the base game Outlast on PC Steam in order to play.
Release date: 06/05/2014

Whistleblower will let you play as Waylon Park, a software engineer under contract with Murkoff and the man who emailed journalists around the world - including Miles - at the beginning of Outlast. Spending a couple of weeks at Mount Massive, during which he was unable to even talk to his wife and son thanks to strict security protocols, Waylon developed a deep-seated distrust of the profit-motivated scientists and doctors leading dangerous and irresponsible experiments on their patients. Identifying with those poor souls fueled Waylon's anger, and set the stage for his unmasking of Mount Massive's rotten core.

Although Whistleblower tells the story that led to Outlast, it will actually stretch past the events of the first game to show the final chapter in Mount Massive Asylum's story.

The code works without any problems, but the game is not worth the price because it is just a simple walking simulator without much depth. Personally, I was expecting a scary game but I didn't even get that because throughout my entire game I only got scared once when a corpse fell on you at the beginning. However, despite this, this offer deserves the highest mark because it is a really good price considering the competition.

Just what I expected, it works perfect, and what it is. Read the product details carefully and you won't have any problems.

I think we all know Outlast 1 from here, right? I don't have much to say about such a mythical game, the story is fascinating, but the most amazing thing of all is the fear that few movies, videos and video games generate in you. I promise that I could not finish it at the time, the feeling of anguish is enormous. Super recommended, I appreciate that it exists and more installments of the saga continue to come out. We'll see how the multiplayer goes next year... ;)

In 2013, expectations of horror were a bit low, competing with the likes of Resident Evil 6 and Dead Space 3, Outlast comes along and boom it's the scariest game ever. Is it still the case? IMO, no. While fun and technically solid, the game doesn’t live up to the scare factor it critically received. Gameplay wise, it's strictly a hide and seek formula that is much more amplified than prior games of this genre. Tension building starts out strong and develops into an organic horror experience to remember. The constant fear of being surrounded by psychopaths is paranoia inducing and very effective. But by the second half of the game, the lack of restraint in random gore splattered everywhere and the hostiles design choice as they chase you around, starts to deteriorate, losing its novelty. Story wise, it's very interesting but certain elements introduced near the end further diminishes that horror factor. Overall, Outlast is an enjoyable claustrophobic tense experience with an interesting plot and great sound design that makes me look past its flaws. Recommended for a quick playthrough for the non-desensitized.
