It's impossible to review this game objectively, but I think I can put it pretty well: Don't play Dark Souls 2 if you're relatively new to Dark Souls and you've just finished DS1. Skip to DS3. DS2 is so fucking different you're gonna hate yourself if you do it first. I played DS2 for the first time AFTER I played probably more than 1000 hours of DS3, and let me tell you, when shit has finally started to feel boring and repetitive in DS1/DS3 and you know the games like the back of your hand—all the quest steps, all the NPCs, all the gear, all the move sets and all the boss attack patterns—it's a breath of fresh air. DS2 has so many neat design ideas they should have kept in later games because they just worked so fucking well in DS2 and it also has terrible design choices that nobody in their right mind would have put in the game. So if Dark Souls is starting to get easy for you and you don't mind trying, dying and repeating, DS2 is for you.

The perfect game for masochists and fans of the difficulty level. The game no longer holds such a climate as in the first part, or 3, but it's Dark Souls anyway. The second part is one of the worst installments of Dark Souls, which does not change the fact that it is well ... good

Honestly, underated game. Not up to the caliber of dark souls 1 or 3 but its still a good game, just overshadowed. Keep in mind none of the other games play like this one

A spectacular game, very well cared for in setting. Although old, we have the advantage of being able to play it at full graphics on a current PC, it is very immersive. A masterpiece of the role-playing video game. A bit chaotic, you know there are no rules or guidelines, but everything can be solved with time and patience. There is a Boss accessible from minute 0 who practically commits suicide, favoring the start with a good amount of souls.

Criminally underrated. Dark Souls 2 is definitely more than worth playing, even if you aren't a Souls fan. Wherever there's a powerful obstacle, there's always a just reward behind it. I absolutely do not understand all the hate around it, other than it was hated at the time of its release because it was different. Allow me to address some common problems that people seem to have with this game.
