The crossbow has an attack range of 8, and the longrange combat style will increase it by 2. It is one of two crossbows with a Prayer bonus, along with its upgraded version, the Zaryte crossbow.

The Armadyl crossbow can be combined with a nihil horn and 250 nihil shards to create the Zaryte crossbow.
