GSC Game World has announced that "Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl" is set for a Q1 2024 release. Currently in the final stages of development, the studio showcased a new "Strider Trailer," ending with the reveal of the Q1 2024 launch window. Though a specific date wasn't given, speculation suggests an announcement could come at The Game Awards 2023 on December 7.

Yevhen Grygorovych, CEO of GSC Game World, shared insights at the PC Gaming Show, describing the game as the studio's largest and most complex project. Developed under challenging circumstances, it has deep personal significance for the team. Originally slated for a 2022 release, the game's launch was postponed due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, with the studio also facing cyber threats.

Set to debut on PC and Xbox Series X|S, "Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl" marks a significant milestone. Its initial conception dates back to 2012, following the release of "Call of Pripyat." After a cancellation, its resurgence in 2018 has since sparked enthusiasm among fans, winning the Most Wanted PC Game award.

The game promises an intense, non-linear experience in a post-apocalyptic Eastern European setting. Utilizing Unreal Engine 5, motion capture, and photogrammetry, it aims to set new graphical benchmarks and immersive gameplay.
