Is this the final form of Destiny 2? Let's find out!

Since 2017, we've been enjoying the expansive world of Destiny 2. The game continues to be quite popular, and the developers at Bungie are set to introduce another expansion soon, which is rumored to be the last one. But is it really? What can we expect in the game? Let's check out the latest information.

Light and Darkness

In the latest expansion, the battle will be fought with the most powerful arsenal. The Light and Darkness saga is coming to an end. Our characters will embark on a journey to The Traveler. It is there that we will face the Witness, who is considered the antagonist of Bungie's creation.

Someone we liked is coming back

A huge surprise for fans of the Destiny universe. After many years, a character we know well from 2014 is making a return: Cayde-6. To recap, this character was considered dead according to the storyline in the Forsaken expansion. Under what circumstances will he return? We’ll find out by playing the latest expansion, The Final Shape. Interestingly, Cayde-6 will be portrayed by Nathan Fillion, an actor known for his roles in 'Castle,' 'Firefly,' and 'Serenity.

There won't be time for boredom

The developers anticipate that the expansion will take players a lot of time due to the activities the studio has prepared. Of course, there's the main storyline to complete, which is said to be really strong, but in addition to that, there are numerous side missions. Players will also have access to a completely new location, which will only be available after completing the main story. In this new place, there are new threats. There's a lot of talk in the industry that there will be enemies who can realistically affect the Guardians with their powers.

New You!

The game focuses solely on introducing new content. We're not talking about major technological revolutions here, just new things to do. However, it must be said that Bungie has prepared really well. According to the latest information in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, we will be able to choose new character classes. Both new for the Light side and the Dark side. This is the first such move in this game. The expansion also emphasizes entirely new abilities, as well as exotic-class items in the latest add-on. Everything will also be tied to individual character benefits, which can be useful in battle.

When is the release date?

The developers have announced the date as June 4, 2024. There shouldn't be any changes in this matter. If there were any issues or delays related to the release of The Final Shape expansion, the developers would certainly inform the players well in advance. So, this scenario should be ruled out, as the release date is getting closer.

What platforms can we play Destiny 2 on?

Destiny 2 is a quite universal game that spans across console generations. We can enjoy Bungie's gem on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, as well as Xbox Series.

More work is underway!

After being acquired by PlayStation, Bungie also mentioned their work on the game 'Marathon.' Not much is known about this game. The only thing we managed to find out is that the production will be a reboot of the 1994 classic. It's said to be a shooter. Meanwhile, further efforts are dedicated to a team-based game set in the world of comedic sci-fi.

Summary

The latest expansion to Destiny, The Final Shape, will be in players' hands just before the summer holidays, on June 4th. The expansion doesn't bring any technical changes but adds only additional content, which includes not only the main storyline but also side missions. New classes, abilities, weapons, and a location that looks incredibly challenging await us. We're not talking about hardware requirements but rather the requirements of our skills and characters because the enemies are said to use abilities so powerful that we might encounter problems. Will it be like that? We'll find out in early May, but we can confidently say that we can't wait.
