ARK is a difficult survival game with dinosaurs to kill, tame or get killed by. Sadly it fails in a lot of way that are difficult to describe. The controls are really odd and the physics are annoying. How ark is made is lazy and the design choices are often confusing. The way this game makes up for it is friends, realistic survival aspects and beautiful landscape. It is really fun to go in with your friends and build an empire of dinosaurs and large structures or go in alone and try to survive for as long as possible, on a private or a public island. But this is just ark in general but on the switch, it's a bit different. First, it doesn't look that good, it's not as bad as I heard but it's still bad. Second, support is bad, the game was dropped almost immediately after release. That wouldn't be so bad since they will never fix the core problems of ark on any system but it means that there's no DLC maps on the Nintendo Switch. That's a problem for me. The DLC maps were always the best and The Island is often voted last. That doesn't mean The Island is bad, it's just the least cool and only the beginning of the ark story. Third, low player base, I see this as a positive. The public ark servers are much calmer and easier to get into, on PC it's impossible to get started on a public server but on the Switch it's actually fun and feels like a nice community. Summary: If you played ARK before and want it on the go, all you need to know is that the controls are really weird and it looks worse then most platforms. If you still want it, I would recommend it.
