Total War: ROME II releases

If you look back over my last blog posts you may see that I rant and rave a lot about ROME II and after playing it for the past 24 hours my excitement seems to have been well placed as it is the best Total War game ever released and possibly one of the best RTS’/Grand Strategy to have graced the PC.

After the critical success of Shogun 2, ROME II had a massive mountain to climb in order to be at least as good as its predecessor and I can safely say it has achieved that and then some. Shogun 2 was my favourite Total War game due to fact it is set in both a period and country I am very interested in. ROME II didn’t quite have me from the off as Shogun 2 did but it certainly pulled me back in with the amazing trailers that were released. They made me want to destroy Rome and rebuild history in the name of Macedon and that is something all the Total war games have done really well they make you crave for total domination and to change history as we know it. For the history buffs among us that is something quite wonderful.

So that is my glowing ‘review’ of what is quite an amazing game and one of the best to have been released this year and I highly recommend you pick this up as the campaign will pull you in for hours on end and will not let go. So be as callous, tyrannical or democratic as you wish as it all ends with…

Just let me destroy one more empire…
