Ride to Hell: Retribution

If you are a fan of America, Motorbikes, or American culture of that time I can only say you should pick it up as I am sure you would enjoy the themes present

Did you ever wish you could be in the film Wild Hogs? Me neither but now you can! Ride to Hell: Retribution is a brawler set in the 1960’s. You’re a maverick and lone rider by the name of Jake Conway. You are constantly involved in a war against a rather unpleasant biker gang by the name of The Devil’s Hand.

To further flesh out the story Jake is a Vietnam veteran and he comes from a family of bikers. After coming back beaten from Vietnam he realises that his own country isn’t quite the same anymore. After trying to fit back into civilian life with his uncle and brother the aforementioned gang The Devil’s Hand (I’m a poet…) brutally and mercilessly murders his brother and Jake swears vengeance sparking your tale.

Ride to Hell has had quite the tumultuous time getting made. After its original announcement in 2008 and then cancelled just a year later. Everybody had figured it dead. Though like a Harley through the flames it was revived and brought to us finally a full five years after its announcement. Though the announcement of the revival wasn’t exactly spectacular, the release was leaked by the Australian Classification Board after it was given an R18+ rating. It was also revealed that the now defunct Deep Silver Vienna had passed on development to Eutechnyx an independent game developer of which has a long lineage of racing games to their name and I am sure their experience added to the product overall.

If you are a fan of America, Motorbikes, or American culture of that time I can only say you should pick it up as I am sure you would enjoy the themes present. It is quite a unique game (other than the revenge story) and it’s an interesting premise one of which I am honestly surprised hasn’t already been capitalised on already.
